Hindi Diwas Celebrations

Hindi is the official language in India. 40% of the population speak the language. In an endeavour to create awareness and showcase the  talent of the students of Grades I – X who have opted for Hindi as their II Language, Orchids  - The International School celebrated ‘Hindi Diwas’ on 12-9-14.
The programme began with a welcome dance by the students of the senior classes.  It was followed by a rendition of a song in which the importance of Hindi as a language was expressed.  The numbers 1-10 were creatively displayed by the junior students through a dance. There was a unique PowerPoint presentation highlighting the significance and relevance of the language.  The event was concluded with a hilarious skit that was presented by the students of Grades IX and X. The audience enjoyed the programme thoroughly.  Our Principal, Mr.C. Srikanth, appreciated the efforts of the teachers – Mrs Swati Saxena, Mrs Ratna Devi and Mr Shyam Kumar in making the programme successful.

Gymnastic Competition

Five Students were selected by the schools’ gymnastic coach Mr. Bramha to participate in the Greater Telangana Artistic Gymnastic Competition on 07/09/14. The competition was held in Green Gables School, Madhapur. The students were selected to participate the floor Exercise Category.

All of them performed well. They were happy as they got an opportunity to exhibit their skills.

Chess Tournament

Six students from Grades V – VIII of Orchids participated in The Children Chess Tournament on 7/9/14 at Shivani Function Hall, Gachibowli. The tournament was organised by Impact Chess Academy. The school is proud to state that Pranav Katpatal of Grade  V won the Third prize in the Under – 9 category.

Star of the Week in 9- B is Rabab Fatima


Hindi Hasya Kavi Sammelan

Humour is a very essential part of our life – it can be in any language. This fact became evident when Orchids organized its first ever ‘Hindi hasya kavi sammelan’ on 7/9/14. Thirteen students from Classes VI – X who have opted for Hindi as their II language, were selected to present a variety of anecdotes  that kept the other students of Classes III – X in splits.   All the speakers showed a lot of confidence and enthusiasm and were eloquent in their expression. However, since it was an Inter-House competition,   Farhanalluh Farooqui and Shuchita Gupta of Class X won the first prize. The second prize was bagged by Kethan Jainof Class VII. Khadija Khan won the third prize.

Teachers' Day Celebrations

Teachers’ Day is a day when all the students get an opportunity to express their love and appreciation for their teachers. The students at Orchids – The International School are no different! They planned meticulously and celebrated Teachers’ Day with a lot of enthusiasm.
The students of Class VI presented a skit depicting Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and his wish to celebrate his birthday as Teachers’ Day in an endeavour to represent and honour the teaching community.
The students of Classes IX and X put up a short but interesting cultural programme.Most of the senior students represented teachers. The teachers who were called onto the stage to walk the ramp were felicitated and given gifts by the Principal. 

A game of Musical Chairs was also organised for the teachers before the cutting of the cake which marked the end of celebrations by the students. The teachers, later, went out for a lavish lunch hosted by the school management.

Dear Parent,
1.      On the occasion of Teachers’ Day on 05/09/14(Friday), the school will get over at 11:30am for classes I to X. However, there is no change in the arrival time. [ only breakfast will be served for the school food students]
2.      Parents using own transport are requested to adjust accordingly.
3.      For students of pre primary, 05/09/14(Friday) and 06/09/14(Saturday) are holidays. However, for  Grades I to X,  06/09/14 and 13/9/14 are normal working days.
4.      Friday’s time-table will be followed on 06/09/14 and 13/09/14  for Grades I to X.
5.      8/9/14 is a holiday for the school on account of ‘Ganesh Immersion’.

Telugu day celebrations held on 30/08/14

It is the time to remember the efforts of Sri Gidugu Ramamurthy who strove hard for the  progress of the telugu language. His birthday on Aug 29  ‘Telugu Day’ officially. Orchids celebrated Telugu Day grandly with the students learning telugu as the second or the third language participating with all enthusiasm. The programme began with Ganesh stuthi following the tradition.

S.Praneeta of class VII, K.Ramya Sruthi of class IX compered the programme. K. Ganashyam of class X acted the role of Ghatothkacha for the very popular song, ‘Vivaha Bhajanambu’ and entertained the audience thoroughly. The students of Classes I and II song ‘Bhurrupitta’ with gestures very cutely.

V. Reshma and S. Harshitha both in class X danced to a song depicting the greatness of telugu culture and language. The students of classes V- VIII characterized Orchidians and their good qualities through their song. The funny skit on a mosquito  presented by S. Samar Simha Reddy and Varsha Pature of class X. G. Roshith Bhanu of  class IX was hilarious with their mimicry.


Principal Mr. C. Srikanth  Praised the efforts of the head of the telugu department Mrs. T. Rama Devi and Mr. K. Venkatadri Telugu telugu. It was a special day to remember.
